Aime' Photography bio picture

Welcome to Aime' Photography's Blog

I love people.  I love watching people and how they connect with others.  Photography has been a means for me to capture that.  This blog is a place where I can share my thoughts on all the amazing people I get the chance to photograph.  Thanks for allowing me to do so.

Freckles

I know all of the kids are going to roll their eyes when they read the blog post title because they like all other children usually hate having freckles. I think it takes some olden’ up to appreciate just how awesome and beautiful they are. This family rocks! They are my back door neighbors who have been known to throw a water balloon or two at me off their deck while I am watering the garden. Oh yes and they are also the ones (I am thinking of a particular child) who decided to do their very first toilet papering job on our house. Rob was sorely dissapointed and felt like he needed to teach them how to really do a toilet papering job. Needless to say I love this family! And I am secretly jealous of all your freckles. Enough said…….

One More

And just one more because I cannot post without a silly one and she does it so well………..

Sweet Smilin’

I love this family! If you remember I did a session with the youngest doll HERE. It was so fun to have the whole family together. I was so happy that Kevin (wink, wink……I am so funny), decided to smile for me half way through the session. It took some tricks up my sleeve but seriously look at those dimples! Adorable! Thanks so much Dusty for sharing your family. They are awesome! Hope you enjoy.

Sweet Senior

This is the granddaughter of my mom’s BFF. My mom and her grandma have been friends since the beginning of time and we just know all of them as family. We have photo’s of her mom with my sister when they were just tiny. Crazy as it is, I had never met Breanna. At certain times of the session I had to do a double take because she reminds me so much of her mom. She is so incredibly sweet! When we started the session she apologized saying that she was not very photogenic. Ummmm….really? She also has a love of old things which automatically makes her my BFF. We were able to take out some of my grandma’s vintage clothes which I was grateful to finally get to photograph. As we were taking the photos, I could just hear Grandma Deri saying, “You want to do what with my clothes,” in her cute shreaky voice. And then followed up with one of my favorite laughs ever. I left the session smiling. Thanks for the fun afternoon.

April 24, 2012 - 6:29 am Linda Dobson - Aimee these are absolutely beautiful! Of course the model is gorgeous but you really did a good job capturing her personality. Love them!

I love this age. I love the spunk! I love how they run with their little tree trunk legs and how everything they do is with excitement and curiosity. I love how not willing they are to listen to you but are still at the age where that is super cute. This little man has been on the blog several times and just continues to get cuter and cuter. We were running…..the entire time :) Fun morning! Thanks Melissa.

April 28, 2012 - 1:01 pm Melissa B - As always, love, love, love them!!!! You're fabulous. Thanks for all you do and for continually taking my kids pictures!!

Guacamole & Chips Anyone?

Everything went perfect during this session except that Kendell and I forgot to share some guacomole and chips afterward. Kendell is my old neighbor and shares my love of that beautiful green stuff. She not only knows good food but is incredibly talented! Her kids were a riot! (oh my goodness, I sound just like my grandma). I love that they love each other. You can tell they have got that brotherly sisterly love going on and that makes my heart sing because I know about that love. Thanks for the great session and for the beautiful images that were so fun to edit. Enjoy!

Some of my favorite images are those I get when doing a meter reading. I love how her soul comes through on this black and white!

Ahhh….dancin' is the best!

True Blue

I love the phrase TRUE BLUE. It describes something that is lasting and is deep and is forgiving and is SURE and is TRUTH and is LOVE. To be TRUE BLUE requires work. I love the principle of work! It has made all the difference with my eternal TRUE BLUE friend (my hubby), and all my other friends I have been so blessed to have. I think I am safe to say that Presli is that to my niece. Friends are the best and a friend plus icecream…..even better!

Grand Cayman Island

Grand Cayman was a whirlwind. Remember in my last post how I mentioned we were the unorganized family…..I should have been more specific. I am the unorganized member of the family. My husband actually is totally on top of things, thank goodness, or my life would be in shambles.

I had this dream of having a large family photo on our wall at home of us on the beach. I went and purchased the outfits before the cruise, talked my sister-in-law into taking it while we were there, went on and on to my family on how important this is and even though they are going to want to jump in the water right when we get there, that this was really important to mom yada yada and would only take a few minutes. The morning of, I got all the kids and husband ready and all geared up to go. We hopped on the taxi and headed out. The beach was amazing and wasn’t that crowed when we arrived. After hauling all the kids across the sand threatening them to not get dirty, we arrived to the perfect spot only to find out that I didn’t have my camera. No, no folks, I mean I left my camera on the taxi. Not a great thing to happen with a really nice camera and lots of tourists. My husband patiently (he has become accustom to this sort of thing) headed out to track it down. He came back and hour and half later which by this time the kids were way out of their photo clothes and sopping wet. Bless his soul! Needless to say that dreamy family beach photo is not going on the wall this year. I did however get some photos I will cherish of them being heaven playing on the beach. It was beautiful!

April 3, 2012 - 8:03 am Jennifer Johnson - Oh wow! Aimee, you have such a good eye for this. I know quite a few people that think they can be a photographer but most pictures are just ok, but yours always blow mw away. I love looking at them and look forward to the next batch. By the way, you have a beautifull family

Jamaica

We just got back a few weeks ago from a family vacation to the Caribbean. This is how it went in Jamacia…..Get off the boat, search frantically to find family who was way more organized than myself, run to find our tour guide, get on bus, start snapping photos only to find out that the lense you chose decides that focusing isn’t a great idea in Jamaica. I had to manually focus the dang thing while our bus driver, Phil, was going 80 miles an hour while singing and talking on the phone and eating a banana all at the same time :) . (Yes, Kattie, I am exaggerating a little….only about the speed though). We Get to Dunn river falls and I have an argument within myself on whether I should take my camera with me while hiking up a waterfall, decided against it, and then spent the next 2 hours screaming at myself for not risking it. It was so gloriously beautiful and unfortunately if you would like to see what it looks like you will need to google it, but I did get some other fun photos that all of us will look back on and smile. The reason it was my favorite though is because we got out of the touristy part and drove into the realness of the country. I am seriously so sad that I could not stop Phil at least 5000 times to take a photo of this and that. The people that stood out in the street, the mortor buildings that had rebar coming out of the top, the homes built out of nothing, clothslines covered in bright clothes hanging from one humble home to another. I really loved it and wish I would have been able to drink it all in a little longer. I was so grateful though to Phil, our bus driver for letting us experience a little of the culture by taking us to an authentic Jamacian restaurant. We were licking the food off our fingers and I am pretty sure I have never seen my husband quite clean the bone like he did out there. LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!
It was an amazing experience!

Come to Mama!!!!

Our family turns into slugs after our bellies are full :)

Boys Love Photos!!!

This session WAS A HOOT! For those of you who wine about having little boys that do not like their photo taken no need to fear…..THEY GET WORSE THE OLDER THEY GET. I had to pull out all the bossy in me (my husband would say that is not that hard for me to do) and order them around. I kind of felt bad when I left but not really because I knew their mom, whom I love, really REALLY loves her kids and had to work some serious magic to even get them there. They have got a great looking family and just check out all those blue eyes and dark hair. Seriously!!!. Anyways I had a blast as usual and was thankful to have Chelsea and the two daughter-in-laws there to balance out all that “I hate photo day” stuff. The last shot made it all worth it! Hope you all enjoy!

February 11, 2012 - 5:06 pm Lynnette Shuman - Love it!!! You are amazing! Nice eye (and touch-up) Aimee! Lynnette
